No tricks, all treats – Halloween munchies mix & FREE PRINTABLE

I found this post on Munchkin Munchies for a Halloween treat mix (thank you, pinterest) and thought it was genius.  So many treats in one mix?  Surely, everyone can find something in this mix that they love.

The boys and I put the mix together tonight.  This is a great one to do with your littles.  I know that it can be tricky to have your younger kids help you with edible things . . . especially when they’re gifts.  My 3-year-old doesn’t quite understand that he can’t put his hands in everything and that licking the spoon and putting it back in isn’t okay.

With this mix, I let them dump things directly from the bag into the bowl and they took turns using a big spatula to stir.  They had fun doing it and it was really easy to let them help.  I gave them a small bowl of the mix to snack on while I did all of the jar-filling, because that took a little more coordination.

I’ve been told before not to give teachers edible gifts.  I know that they often throw them away, not knowing how they were prepared.  That may happen, but at least they’ll get a nice jar out of the deal, right?

Here’s what went in the mix (in the order that we mixed it):

Mini pretzel twists
Cheese-its
Honey nut cheerios
Peanuts
Reese’s Pieces
Candy Corn
Cocoa Puffs
Candy pumpkins

I meant to pop some popcorn to add, but totally forgot.  That would be a nice addition to it, too. If you make this, I’d love to hear what you added to the mix!

I’ve made the stickers I used on my jars available for free!  Click here to download them.

Or, you can divide it into cellophane treat bags and use the trick or treat bag toppers for sale in the shop.

You know what else would have been cute?  Some of my vynil pumpkin faces on the jars to give them a jack-o-lantern look!  Maybe next year.
